"Ant & Nat's" wedding is a rare treat - a mixture of a beautiful stylish couple and an equally personality-filled wedding. Our VPG team (Michael Shane Gordon, Katie-Jo Dixon, & a photography coordinator) had the privilege and duty of capturing the many intricacies of this couple's wedding: engagement portraits, wedding rehearsal dinner photos, & wedding day details.
While planning is important, actually being there is key. On the morning of the wedding, we planned for Katie Jo to follow the bride, Michal Shane to follow the groom, while I (the photography coordinator) strategized locations, positioning, and available light on-site. Yes, planning paid off. But, as the inevitable randomness of personality unfolded, it was up to the experience of our entire team to capture it all. When the ceremony was delayed, our photographers were able to capture the fun details leading up to that, while I improvised and quickly gathered all the guests to their seats in order to discourage a second wedding party who had suddenly arrived. Later, when the wedding reception heated up into an unforgettable adventure, our photographers were on the scene! Thus explains how every little thing counts.
